Our Kindergarten teachers approached me with a request for an art project for the back cover of their memory books. The kids have filled out pages in their memory books all year and they wanted a colorful back cover.
For this project, we used a great end of year poem by Helen H. Moore.
We started by dripping water in pans of watercolor paints. Then, we dipped our fingers in the paint and made a page of fingerprints. I like the Crayola Artista II Watercolor Set.
Here is my example. I think the results by themselves are just beautiful! I will totally use this technique in my art journal pages.
Then, we traced our hands on construction paper and glued them to the paper. The poem was glued on last.
This is a great end of the year project because sometimes it’s just fun to dip our fingers in paint!

If you are looking for some fun end-of-the-year Art Award certificates, I have this beautiful and colorful package of 13 different art awards!
