Preschool Arts & Crafts

Many of you have probably know I have a 4 1/2 year old daughter.  If you are friends with me on Instagram you have seen pics of her.  I LOVE that she loves art.  She has a creative spark to her and her favorite art materials are oil pastels, watercolors and markers.  She doesn’t like getting messy, so we usually have a wet paper towel or baby wipe nearby.  This summer she went to a preschool camp (which was in the mornings on Tues/Thurs in July) and we went together to a toddler/preschool art class on Fridays.

I wanted to show you some of the fun things she made in case you work with the littles or to remind you of fun techniques (like crayon shavings melted in wax paper) that you may have forgotten about.

Colorful abstract collage of a mouse with a green triangle head, blue ears, a red round body, and a multicolored background.
They read the book Mouse Shapes and then put together a mouse from precut shapes. The background was painted with a glittery tempera paint.
This preschool craft involves creating a turtle using a paper plate, colorful tissue paper mosaic for the shell, and pink pipe cleaner antennae.
She made this at her preschool with tissue paper, glue and precut shapes.
Colorful abstract painting with bold strokes, featuring "Daria" spelled out in letters on the bottom, ideal for a preschool arts and crafts project.
They read a book about trains and then created these trains with construction paper, watercolor paints, pom pons and foam wheels.
A colorful, handmade paper plate decoration with abstract patterns, hanging by a white ribbon on a green wall.
Made with crayon shavings, wax paper and paper plate.
A spiral paper plate snake painted purple with green and red dots, an engaging creation from a preschool arts & crafts project, lying on a dark textured surface.
This poor little snake lost one eye! Daria had fun anyway painting the plate and using paint dotters.
Funky Art Hat
Silly folded hat! Made with oil pastel, chalk pastel, foam shape stickers, beads and pipe cleaners.
