The 5th/6th graders have been studying Medieval art and we viewed a powerpoint about stained glass windows in cathedrals. The students use glass stain on pieces of plexiglass to make their own picture. We first drew the lines on a piece of paper. Then, we placed the plexiglass on top of the paper. They painted their black lines first and let them dry. Then they use the glass paint to color in the areas.

Thanks! We used the black paint that came in the glass stain package. I think it is just regular acrylic paint though, that's what it appears to be. Mary, I have already discovered your blog, it is wonderful and I love all the art that you have posted!! Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂

Hi Pat! We actually bought the plexiglass from an Ace hardware store near our house. The guy there cut all the pieces for us (I'm not sure of the charge as the other art teacher that works at my school got all of these cut).
