We had the pleasure of having @tracysubisak visit our school for an author/illustrator visit. It was so fun! I love her snail book! The colors are even more beautiful in person. The kids had a blast creating their own characters with her. #elementaryartteacher #iteachart #artteachersofinstagramPaper weaving by 1st graders! #elementaryartteacher #elementaryart #iteachart #artteacherlife #artteachersofinstagram #artteachingNot a huge fan of Taylor Swift, but I loved this creative origami house by one of my students. Collographs– 2nd grade
2nd grade Collographs:We read about the art of Jasper Johns. He used everyday, ordinary images and created art so people would view them in a new way. We made a collograph printing plate using letters and numbers cut from foam, alphabet letters, cardboard and foam shapes. Then we printed them on white paper. For some of these, we glued colorful shapes on the paper before we printed.

Bubble Prints!

Carved Stamps– 5th/6th grade
My 5th and 6th grade class carved stamps from E-Z Cut and then we printed them many times. They looked at African Adinkra stamps and then used those designs for inspiration. We printed them on artist trading cards, a design on paper and then on two large group artworks. The ones pictured here are our large group artworks. We are going to put this artwork in the school raffle fundraiser at the end of the year. I’m also going to … Read more…
