Pinteresting Art Ideas!

pinteresting

It’s no secret art teachers love Pinterest.  In this new blog series, I will round up some of my favorite Pinspiration for art teachers.  If you’d like to see all of my Pins, follow me on Pinterest.  It’s a great way to plan projects, find handouts and ideas!  If you have other ideas that fit this theme, add them in the comment section.

I was inspired to pick the theme of FACES for this blog post, because I came across this fun picture by Picasso.  Wouldn’t this be a fun sketchbook assignment?  Have the kids cut out eyes from magazines or newspapers and create a simple line drawing for the body.

Blanca Helga created these whimsical cardboard figures.   I love the use of recycled materials, the cute faces and limited color scheme.

Finally in First blog shared these adorable self-portraits of her students at age 100.  Perfect for celebrating the 100 days of school.

Can you tell I love mixed media?  I was instantly drawn to these gorgeous portraits by Kat MacleodThis portrait combines a watercolor face with cloth for clothes, newspaper and sequins.

Teesha Moore has a fun how-to-draw sheet for cute and funky figures.  This is the kind of handout I would set out for early finishers or put in a drawing center for free-draw time.

I’m really digging this abstract, simplified face by Lynda Black.  I’m not sure how I would use this in the classroom, but maybe it would make a good launching point for a printmaking project.

Art House 577 has these gorgeous portraits painted on plexi-glass.  I’ve been meaning to try this for ages.

How cute are these “I am” boards from the Brave Girls Club?

Has anyone made a face out of a smashed soda can?  This would be interesting to try!

Do you have any fun art ideas that fit the theme of FACES?  Have you used any of these pictures in the art room?
