Art Discussion Signs for Bulletin Boards

Art Discussion Questions

I have been dreaming about how I will be setting up my art room next year, as we will be having two art rooms and I will have a lot more space!  The art discussion cards that I created have been popular and I thought that these questions would make an intriguing bulletin board.

Art Discussion Questions

I designed 33 colorful signs with interesting art discussion prompts that can be used in classroom critiques or art history discussions.  There are 4 additional “title” signs that say “Art Talk”, “Let’s Talk About Art”, etc.  Each of the signs is sized at 8.5″ x 11″ and has one prompt or question for discussion about art.

Art Questions

Questions such as
“What sounds would you hear if you were in this picture?” and

“What do you think the artist was trying to say?” will have students analyzing, wondering and discussing artwork. They are also perfect to use for writing activities.

(Artwork not included! Choose your own to adapt for any lesson.)

This packet contains 37 pages:

pages 1-4 = Title Cards for your bulletin board in different fonts

pages 5-37 = Discussion Questions for the bulletin board.

You can download and print out this set of bulletin board signs for only $4.

Or, make your own!  Just get out some painted papers and write some thoughtful art discussion questions on the signs.  Place them on a bulletin board next to famous artworks that you are studying and TALK ABOUT ART!

I’m planning on putting some of these on a bulletin board in my art room and some in the hallway where kids line up and wait outside for classes to start during break.  Hopefully, as the kids look at the bulletin board they will be prompted to think about the artwork in new ways.

Such a great idea, and a much more exciting and VISUAL way to approach art critique than just a plain, typed list of questions. This would be great for homeschool moms who are intimidated by “doing” art projects, but who still want to incorporate art in their kids’ lives.
