Printed Faces with 1st Grade

childs printed face

Printing with Cardboard

To print faces, cut cardboard rectangles.  Dip in paint and stamp to make faces.  We colored these with crayons and added words and letters with rubber stamps.  Aren’t they expressive?

Thanks for the idea. The prior project my 1st graders stamped w/cardboard and black paint letters and/or shaped with that got finished with oil pastels to create abstract picture. So this was a natural follow up once they got used to stamping with cardboard. I have some classes finish it with crayons and colored pencil others with oil pastels.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
